History of the Auster / Beagle Terrier 1

The Auster/Beagle Terrier 1 was a British military liaison and observation aircraft produced during the Second World War

The air observation duties, counter-insurgency and casualty evacuation roles performed by Auster and similar light aircraft were generally taken over by light helicopters from the mid-1960s.

G-ACVS Auster/Beagle Terrier 1, holds historical significance and is currently awaiting restoration at the Ulster Aviation Society.

The future restoration of G-ACVS at the UAS will be an exciting endeavour that will bring this iconic aircraft back to its former glory, ensuring that the aircraft is meticulously repaired and preserved.

Once completed, the restored G-ACVS will serve as a living testament to the aviation legacy, captivating enthusiasts and visitors alike with its timeless charm and historical significance.
