Legacy from your Will and Charitable Giving

The Ulster Aviation Society (‘UAS’) has only grown in 50+ years because of the incredible work, support and donations given to us by our amazing volunteers, partners and visitors.

Would you like to help the Society after you have passed on?

A gift left in your Will is a simple, yet powerful way of making a difference for the Ulster Aviation Society's future.

Your gift, large or small, will help us continue our educational work to inspire future generations; to grow, conserve and display our extraordinary Heritage collection and its place in history; and also to help the Society grow in numbers, scope and vision.

How do I include a donation to the Ulster Aviation Society in my Will?

If you are kindly considering including a donation, you may find the wording below helpful to use in your Will or a codicil (a document used to change a Will that has already been made). We would always recommend that you seek professional advice to ensure that any legacy meets your own personal circumstances and is accurate.

The Ulster Aviation Society is a charity (registered charity number NIC100128) and as such, a legacy to the UAS would be exempt from inheritance tax. Any amount, large or small, would make a valuable difference to our work and would be gratefully received.

Percentage Bequest in your Will

A Percentage bequest is a percentage share of your estate after other bequests and any expenses have been paid.

Suggested wording to be included within your Will may be:

I give ______ (all or a ___ % share) of my residuary estate to the Ulster Aviation Society, now or previously located via Gate 3, Maze Long Kesh, 94-b Halftown Road, LISBURN, Co. Antrim, BT27 5RF  (NI registered charity number NIC100128) for its general purposes, and declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer at the Ulster Aviation Society shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Executor/s.

Specific Bequest in your Will

A 'Specific Bequest' is a specific amount of money from your estate.

Suggested wording to be included within your Will may be:

I give free of tax to the Ulster Aviation Society, now or previously located via Gate 3, Maze Long Kesh,  94-b Halftown Road, LISBURN, Co. Antrim, BT27 5RF  (NI registered charity number NIC100128) the sum of £_________ [sum in words] for its general purposes, and declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer at the Ulster Aviation Society shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Executor/s.

Your solicitor will be able to give you legal advice about these and other types of bequests in your Will.

A gift to the Ulster Aviation Society's general charitable purposes ensures that any legacy we receive can be used where it is most needed at the time and can go towards projects we may be working on now, or in the future.

If you would like to find out more about legacy giving, we would love to hear from you.
